marketing & branding executive

Beauty/Fashion, Retail, Entertainment & Tech

I "future-proof" Fortune 500 brands by developing marketing and branding strategies to engage new consumers.

Throughout my 15+ year career, I have led the development of strategies that increase market share and drive innovation at over 50 global brands.

I believe innovation is critical in today's fragmented marketplace but only successfully happens when the consumer is truly at the center of the plan. After working across all marketing disciplines (traditional, digital, social, influencer and experiential) and spending the past decade immersed in market research, I can confidently say I understand consumers and how they react to marketing holistically. This enables me to carefully discern between exciting opportunities that are sure to delight and motivate the omnichannel consumer to spend and flashy gimmicks that are sure to only garner industry press. Through the process, I generally challenge convention and transform the perspective of cross-functional senior leaders.

I attribute a lot of my success to one unique skill set:

In other words, I focus on the big picture
AND the details.

Excels equally in the abstract and the concrete, I'm known for my ability to easily switch between the analytical and the creative.

Let me break it down:

The Details

The Details

Making sense of big data.

Brand metrics are more critical and sophisticated than ever. Any marketer can rattle off dozens of "WHATS" - facts or data points related to their brand; good marketers analyze the data and use it to make tactical decisions. Sure, I do all that, but more importantly, I make the data come alive, especially for senior leadership. I identify the narrative in the details by connecting the dots between brand metrics and broader consumer trends.

The Big Picture

The Big Picture

Understanding and using data in context.

Data's power is greatly limited if what's driving it isn't understood. I specialize in that. I've spent the better part of a decade carefully studying the attitudes and behaviors of Millennials and Plurals (members of post-Millennial generation), and juxtaposing them against Baby Boomers and Gen Xers. Through my research and cross-category experience, I understand consumers holistically. I know the mindsets ultimately driving their behaviors; I understand the "WHYS" of big data. I understand the data, or details, in context of today's complex marketplace - which gives me the critical big picture view to successfully move forward in meeting business objectives.

Developing strategies that absolutely work.

Because I use THE DETAILS (the trees, big data or "whats") and THE BIG PICTURE (the forest, context or "whys"), I can see what obstacles or opportunities may lie ahead, essentially anticipating how the market will respond. Therefore, I confidently determine HOW to meet business objectives -  both the strategy and the tactics.
